Goat Stew

There’s nothing better then a bowl of streaming hot stew as the seasons get colder. This is a simple stew with goat meat but you could substitute any meat you wanted. It’s a great way to tenderize tougher cuts and we’ve used a 1 lbs pack of our goat stew meat for this simple winter stew.

- Chop onions, carrots, garlic, peppers and potatoes

- Add lard or oil to pot or dutch oven (we prefer this for stews and braising meat)

- Pre-heat oven to 300

- Salt meat and sear on med high heat till light brown on all sides

- Remove meat and add veggies

- Once softened re add meat

- Add 2-4 cups of stock (this all depends on how much you want to make)

- Allow to come to boil and turn off burner

- Add potatoes and barley and put in oven

- Cook at 300 for 2 hours
